Friday Loose Bloggers Consortium: Change

When thinking about today's topic, I keep thinking of the phrase from the song that says, "A little change will do you good." I also keep thinking of the saying, "A change is as good as a rest." If change is so good for us, why is it so hard?

My family is going through a lot of changes right now. Some of us are ready for a change, and are excited to have a new start. Some of my family are upset and not looking forward to a change. But deep down, I still feel that even those who aren't ready for a change, will, in the long run, enjoy it.

Don't you think that change helps us to grow? If everything always stayed the same in our lives, we would get stagnant. You can't progress if everything never changes.

I remember when I was a freshman in High school, and my family received the news that my father's employer wanted us to move. Moves can be difficult for teenagers, but for me it was a great opportunity to start fresh. I think that it's all in how you view the change. I"m one of the family members who is looking forward to the upcoming change in our lives. I only hope I can help the ones on the other side to see how great change can be!

If you would like a change of perspective, check out what the other consortium members had to say about this topic:

Was the move discussed with all the family before decisions were made? Will the whole family be going? two years can seem like a lifetime to a young person.

How about a list of the positives with a column for each person. you could put it on the fridge and add as the ideas come to mind.

During our married life, before I retired finally, we lived in 10 different homes in seven different places. Every move was filled with apprehension and every move was enjoyed post move. It forced us to send our son to boarding school and we believe that made him into a stronger person than he would have been had he not gone.

The Nay sayers will come around post event,

It is interesting that we deal with change this way since change is really all there is. It is like a fish deciding it doesn't like water.

Perhaps, when friends are made and life is quite enjoyable, for the young person it is natural to not want to see that lost. Perspective on this grows with experience, I think.

It will be a wonderful adventure and it will not take long before everyone settles into this new life.

Life is ever-changing; some of us can go with the flow, while others struggle.

Hopefully, time will take care of the change your family faces.

Blessings - Maxi

Change in my life has usually worked out for the better - though how does one ever really know? No chance of running a control in the life experiment.
I'm dreading some changes lurking down the road, but hopefully the old saying is true...
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I'll just tell you (and maybe I already told you this), every move we made was a really good decision and was good for all my kids.
