The 12 Year Old Mind

Tonight I got a call from the school telling me my 12 year old missed one period of class today. I was surprised and asked him what that was about. He confessed that when he rode his bike to school today, there was a lot of traffic. He got to school about 10 minutes late. He was so worried that he would get a detention for being tardy, that he decided to just hide out in the bathroom! I told him, "But don't you see that an unexcused absence is worse than a tardy?" I don't think his mind had thought ahead that far. lol Some people tell me they wish they could go back in time and re-live certain years of their life. Just for the record, I would never want to be 12 again. :)

I on the other hand would give an arm an a leg to be 12 and not do many of the things that I did and do many of the things that I did not do!

The ages of 12 thru about 15 were the worst years of my life. I would never want to relive them again. I would definitely suggest that he leave earlier for school however.

I wouldn't want to be 12 again, either. I kind of understand how he was thinking, though. :0)

I can't think of a single age that I would like to repeat---I would like to be in the same shape again I was in 1981 but not enough to go through the pain necessary to get there.
