Modern Day MIracles

A friend shared this story with us last night, and I wanted to share it with you. I hope I get all of the details right. He was raised on the reservation. He lived in Chinlee, Arizona. One time, Pres. Spencer W. Kimball came to speak to the members there. Our friend was part of a choir made up of youth. He said that they had to meet outside and it was very hot that day. The bleachers he was sitting in were facing the sun, as was the podium. The audience all had their back to the sun. It was a very hot day, and the sky was clear except for a small patch of clouds. As he sat there baking in the sun, he prayed that the little patch of clouds would move over and cover the sun to give them some relief from the heat. The meeting started, and Pres. Kimball began to speak. He got up and said, "I have prayed that the little patch of clouds will move over a little so that we can get some relief from the heat." Our friend said that at that moment, the cloud did move and blocked the sun. He said it was just big enough to cover the sun. The shadow from the cloud fell directly on to the congregation and choir/podium. He said that while Pres. Kimball was speaking, they had shade. As soon as he finished, the cloud moved. He wasn't sure the audience had noticed, since their backs were to the sun, but he said that even as a teenager, he knew that he had witnessed a miracle!

I'm glad he recognized it as a small miracle instead of a coincidence. :0)

I am not surprised at all. There are small and big miracles happening all the time that we simply do not recognize for what they are. I shall be shortly writing a post on one such miracle that I experienced.

Thanks for sharing that story! I think the hand of God is in our lives more than we realize.
