Well, we are finally coming out the other side of this flu we have had. My youngest got it first. There were days when he and I just layed in the bed watching tv (or listening with our eyes closed because our eyes hurt to much to open them). I told him, "We have spent so much time together, it's too bad we couldn't have done something fun.". He was really upset that he couldn't go to school Wednesday because his class was going to watch some "river dance" downtown. Today he woke up about 9:00 and was really upset that I hadn't woken him up for school. I wasn't sure he would feel well enough to go today, but he insisted he did. He didn't want to miss out on "Squid dissection Day". He still has a little bit of a cough, but I think that will hang on for awhile. As I was signing him in at the office, the secretary said, "Well, hopefully he won't get another dose of flu while he is here today". Oh great, I didn't think of that. I'll just have to hope for the best because he really wanted to be there for the squid dissection.
This flu hits hard and fast. I told my older son that if he started feeling bad at school, to be sure to have me come get him because this flu hits fast. He called after lunch yesterday to have me come get him because he was coughing so much. Within a couple of hours he was flat in bed.
Last week my husband was travelling in New York on business and missed a couple of his normal days off. His boss said he would allow him to take those two days later. He thought about taking one today, but I told him I thought he should save those two days in case he gets this flu. He will need those days.
