What Are the Odds?

My husband has been talking to his company to see about the possibility of him working from a remote location.  We would like to move away from California, but would like for him to be able to keep this same job.  They haven't given their answer yet, but my husband has already started looking at houses in Provo, Utah.

He found one house that is in the same neighborhood that we lived in 20 years ago.  It's already set up for Google Fiber, and has a great view of Utah lake.  We were looking at the pictures of the house online, and noticed that in one picture there is a wall hanging with a Chinese character on it.  I said, "Are these people Chinese?  Or maybe one of them was a missionary in Taiwan or Hong Kong."   Today my husband called them and found that these people used to live in China.  Actually, they used to live in Wuhan, the very city were we now live!  Isn't that weird?  They are actually considering moving back to Wuhan.  I joked and said we could trade houses.  :)  Actually, that would be ideal, because this apartment is really convenient for having church.

I don't know that we will end up buying that house, but what are the odds of something like this happening?  :)

Hi D,

I call that Synchronicity. You might end up getting that house :)

My late wife went to BYU and so she lived in Provo. I was somewhat befuddled by the streets and addresses there - when I went to visit her I got totally lost. That said, it is a spectacular place - I hope it works out for you. I have worked from home for many years and my company has the metrics to show I have been 20% more productive since the move.
