What's in a Name?

During my son's graduation, those announcing the students had a really difficult time! Actually, I was very impressed by how well they pronounced the names, even though many of them were really unusual. I was surpised by how many of the students had 4 names or more! Let me give you some of the names they had to pronounce:

--Jaytiauna
--Dayzanay
--Daquana
--Ja'brea
--Mahrukh
--To'mika
--Yewonetsew
--Ra'che
--Xiomara
--Shaunikra
--Iteanna
--Deveona
--Woanru
--Ijeoma
--Derrinea
--Zakiya
--D'Asia
--Uyai
--Xazziel
--Refaat
--Nneoma
--Akwinder

I kid you not, most of these were first or second names, and most had at least 3 names just like this. I only picked out a few, there were over 600 students in this graduating class. My congratulations to those who announced them all!!

I think a few people read too many science-fiction books....

I think a few people don't know how to spell so just leaned on the keyboard to come up with a name.

Hi D,

LOL LOL well, I have heard all kinds of names during my upbringing (in Mozambique there are some traditional names that I can't spell) so these are quite easy, as far as I'm concerned.

Nevertheless, I would like to say that we are taking creativity a bit too far, but hey it is a free world...

Congrats to those who announced them all indeed :D; and congrats to your son!!!

Cheers
