Well, last night on the news I saw a report that the boy scout camp is flooded, and some scouts are stranded on the other side of the river from the main part of the camp. Guess what. My son is one of those people stranded! They specifically showed footage of Camp Wolfboro. There is a river that runs through the middle of the camp, and there is a foot bridge that crosses it. But the river is so high that the foot bridge is under water. They have had to use a zip line to get food to the boys, since the cafeteria is on the other side of the foot bridge. They thought that the river would go down enough today that the boys could cross, but they aren't sure yet if the bridge is still structurally safe. They are due to come home Saturday.
I sure hope he is dry, and warm. I also hope that he is able to still pass off some merit badges, even though he is cut off from all of the merit badge counselors! And i hope the river doesn't rise any more!!
