12 Days of Christmas

Becky at Never bored shared an idea for doing the 12 days of Christmas. It reminded me of when I decided to do this for someone. I was the visiting teacher to the wife who was bed ridden. But I would also visit with her husband when I went to their house. I decided to do the 12 days of Christmas for them, and I just picked items that kind of went along with the song. Like I bought egg nog for the "six geese a laying". It was fun to go to their house to visit, and have them tell me about the anonymous person who was doing the 12 days of Christmas for them. The husband (he was about 70 at the time), told me that he was going to catch the person who was doing it. He made a concerted effort to try to get to the door quickly when we rang the doorbell. So of course I had to enlist my teenagers in the effort because they can run faster than me. :) And sometimes, if it was a non-perishable item, I wouldn't ring the doorbell, I would just leave the item there for them to find whenever they came out the front door. She has since died, and he has remarried, and in all that time they never found out it was me. :D (And he doesn't read blogs. lol)

I'd like to do this for someone sometime. I enjoyed reading about Stace-Ghost & Bab's 12 days of Christmas last year.

Very nice thing to do Delirious. You inspire me to do a similar thing to one of my neighbours.
