Silly Rabbit

Throughout my life, during the holidays, I often have a recurring nightmare. I often dream that the holiday has come, and I forgot to prepare! This nightmare almost came true one year when, at about 9:00 in the evening on Saturday night before Easter, I realized I hadn't bought any Easter candy! I hurried to Walmart and was able to get what I needed. Our family does worship in church on Easter, and remember the real reason for Easter, but we also hunt Easter eggs. And although none of my kids believed in the Easter Bunny, they still look forward to the tradition.

This year my children are older; my youngest being almost 12 years old. Maybe that had an effect on me, because although I bought Easter candy for our annual hunt, I didn't fully prepare. At 8:15 this morning, I woke up and my husband asked, "Did you get all of the candy hidden?" I LEAPED out of bed and said, "Quick, come help me!" We dashed downstairs and had most of it hidden before my son woke up 10 minutes later. We called up and told him he needed to wake up his siblings first, so that bought us a few extra minutes. lol I know they are growing up, but we all still enjoy the tradition. Maybe this is why we have our children in our youth. By the time we are older, we are too senile to remember to do everything!
