A Day of Rest

This past year my husband and I have been so busy on Sundays with church responsibilities that we have felt like Sunday was really not a day of rest. As a matter of fact, it seemed to be the most exhausting day of the week! Today I learned why.

We share our church building with two other congregations, so have to adjust our meeting schedule to accomodate three. One Ward meets at 9:00 am. One meets at 11:30 am. The Spanish branch meets an hour later than our Ward so that their youth can meet with our youth in Sunday School and youth meetings. Their parents don't speak English well, so have their own classes, but the youth all speak English and meet with ours. In 2009, our Ward met at 11:30 in the morning. This meant that we ended at 2:30. We would go home and get something to eat, then turn around and head back to the church for choir at 5:00. If there were any other meetings that day, they would usually be held at 7:00. No wonder we were exhausted! Now we meet at 9:00 am, and get home by noon. We have a full 5 hours before choir! I'm in HEAVEN! I actually got a nap today! Sunday is going to be a real day of rest for me this year! Woo hooo!!!!!!
