Blog Security

Inklings was mentioning something that we should do for blog security. I have another idea that I have been thinking about. When you post pictures on your blog, rename them. Often we have a picture that is named the same name as the person in it. When someone clicks on that picture to see it bigger, and hovers over it with the mouse, the name of the photo shows. I usually resize my pictures anyway so that they are easier to post, and when I do, I rename them. I just think it's a good practice.

That's one of the reasons why our blog is private. I like sharing all the details, and I trust everyone that reads our blog.

Many of the professors who blog criticize those who maintain a layer of anonymity as being cowardly in their posting of ideas. There may be a few, but I think it is definitely best to keep some barrier and hold back info, particularly when we post about our loved ones.
