Game Blog

For a year or so I have been part of a game blog. It started out as a blog to play "Apples to Apples". Nene mentioned that she loves to play apples to apples, so I invited her to the blog too. One person would post an adjective, then everyone else would write a noun in the comment box. We tried doing variations of the game, and also tried other games such as "Madlibs". That one didn't work very well because of blog mechanics. As time went on, the original group of gamers kind of dwindled off in their play, and me and the newcomers changed the game a little. We began to use "word verifications", and ask the players to come up with a definition, and use it in a sentence. To me, this was when the game really got creative. Recently one of the players made the comment that the game was getting too difficult for her. I encouraged her to try anyway. She did, and came up with the winning answer! But when it was her turn to post the game, she went back to the original apples to apples theme. Because of that, more of the original players came back to play.

I don't want to hijack their blog with games that the bulk of the players don't want to play. So I decided I wanted to start my own game blog and invite anyone who DARES to play against us veterans. ;) Nene suggested we could even do things like, "Finish the lymerick", or rhyming games. We also still enjoy making up defintions for word verifications.

Here's the thing: I need help coming up with a name. Inklings has suggested the following: Wordage, Tete-a-Tete, Parlance, Colloquy, Words Worth, Turning Phrases, Bywords,"My word!", and Word Quest. Nene has come up with: Byword, Catchphrase,
Just Give Me the Word..., Wordwise, A Word to the Wise..., and Say So. I thought of: Verbiage, and "Twaddle Prattle and Babble", Lingo Limbo, and was toying with the word Jargon to use. I'm still waiting for Eutychus to give his ideas, he is very creative.
