We were walking our dogs at the regional park today and saw some burrowing owls. I didn't have my camera then, so I drove back later to take some pictures. When we were there earlier, the baby was at the opening of the hole, but when I went back, it didn't want to come out. But you can see one of the parents keeping guard in these pictures. When I walked the dog past, the parent was really squawking at her. The nest is the hole right below the bush. They are so cute. I remember not too many years ago a company wanted to build houses where some burrowing owls were living. The city made them relocate the owls before they could build.

I didn't know there was such a thing. Nice work!
I've never heard of burrowing owls either. I'm going to have to find that movie.
