The End is Near

I am now teaching about the book of Revelation in seminary. We all know it talks about the end of the world. Many feel that the end is near. But for me, I'm simply focused on the fact that the end of seminary is near! :) I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about teaching this to teenagers. It's sometimes hard to keep their attention in the easier books, much less one that is hard to understand. Wish me luck!

This is certainly one of the hardest. Now I am wondering how Mormons come out in the pre-mil, post-mil, a-mil debates ...

Looney, I'm interested to know more about the debate you speak of. We do believe we are in the "Saturday night" of time, but of course, "no man knoweth" when the end will come. What is the debate about?

Delirious, there are numerous debates, but the one I mentioned was whether or not there would be a rapture and tribulation before the thousand year reign, or perhaps in some other order. The orthodox folk say Christ's kingdom and reign are now, whereas the dispensationalists say that this is the future.

I haven't felt a need to sort all of this out yet.

Hmm..I guess in this debate we would be considered dispensationalists. We believe that when Christ reigns upon the Earth, He will be physically present. We believe that there will be a "second coming" when all of the Earth will see Him come. Every knee will bow, and ever tongue will confess that Jesus is the Christ. There will be no confusion about whether or not He has come. Everyone will see Him come. He will reign for 1000 years, then will come the final battle before the judgement.

I wouldn't worry I think everyone is always interested in Revelations because it does have to do with our time and the end of days
