Earth Day
Here is a conversation I had with my ten year old last night.
Me: Okay, I'm going to take a shower.
Husband: I'm showering in the morning.
10 year old: You can't shower tomorrow, it's Earth day!
Me: Sorry, but I'm not going to go without a shower tomorrow.
10 Year old: But it's Earth day!
Me: Earth day or not, I will shower
10 Year old: Then make it a quick one!

I would offer to skip the shower in exchange for permission to take a shower that is twice as long as usual tomorrow.
Could a bubble bath count as a "shorter shower"? The water wouldn't be running the entire time...
Where did she get this notion?
That's a very good question Ramana. I can answer it by telling you that this is the culture of California. Conservationism is pretty much the state religion here. The children learn this from the culture, and from their teachers in school. I don't disagree, but I wish that there was some real religion mixed in. They learn about ecology and recycling from a very young age in school.
They learn about recycling stuff and conserving stuff but they don't learn about conserving fuel or power or any of that stuff - just the things that are easy to talk about. Take away their cars and see what they have to say about green living.
If you really not showering, means that you celebrate earth day in extreme way.
very cute!!
LOL LOL LOL...
Well, D...I was like you "Earth day or not, I showered"...
Your kid is cute :)!
Cheers
