Me Teach Seminary??

Well, it's official, I've been asked to teach early morning seminary this coming school year. For those who don't know, the youth in our church attend seminary every day. In LDS communities, such as in Idaho, or Utah, they are given the option of having "release time" to go during the school day to a seminary building that is usually across the street from the High school. But in communities with less members, our teenagers go early in the morning to the chapel and attend seminary before school. Our seminary starts at 6:30, and ends at 7:20. I will be teaching the New Testament this year. I do enjoy teaching, so I think it will be fun, but I also realize it will be a lot of work. I'm not sure who will go crazy first: me from having to deal with Juniors and Seniors, or the kids from having to put up with an old, ADD, crazy woman. Wish me luck!

What a wonderful opportunity you have ahead of you! If it makes your class feel better, we start at 5:50 AM here, and our alarms get to start ringing in just one week. I'd be happy to share what worked or didn't work for my classes if you have any questions. Have a great day!

Our Seminary started at 6am. It was the best and most fun calling I ever had - even though the last year had the most drama. :0+

My mom was a seminary teacher for four years and loved, loved, loved it. She was already used to getting up early (my dad leaves for work around 5:45) and she loved the way she was able to learn so much about the scriptures each day. Good luck and I hope you love it too!
