New Missionary Approach?

This morning about 4:30 we awoke to some crashing sounds. We jumped out of bed and my husband ran to the window in time to see someone trying to break in to his car. They had already smashed in the passenger window. My husband yelled out (loud enough for them to hear) "What the heck? Call the police!!!". They immediately drove quickly away. My first thought was that he should have kept quiet until the police came so that they could catch them. But after checking out the car, I'm glad he scared them off. When we dropped my daughter off in Provo, she had left behind her lap top so that we could get the screen fixed. It was still on the floor of the back seat of my husband's car. His hands free cell phone adapter was still in place too. From examining the car, it appeared that they saw my husband's scripture case on the floor and saw an IPOD cord partially laying under it. They must have thought the IPOD was there. The policeman who came to make the report laughed with us about what would have happened if the theives had actually stolen the scriptures. Can you imagine them driving away in triumph, only to open the scripture case to find the Bible staring at them? :) The policeman said, "Maybe they could have learned something from it." I turned to my husband and said, "You stunted their salvation!" (by scaring them off before they could steal the scriptures). :) I guess we took for granted what a good watch dog our old dog was. I'm not sure I'm ready to get another dog though. Maybe we will just put in a good security light.

Hey D!

This was quite an adventure! But I am glad they didn't have the chance to take anything: can you imagine the look on your kid's face if her laptop had been stolen?

The scriptures part if funny lol!
A dog is always necessary, but I totally get you if you find it hard to get another one. My dog died 8 years ago and I still can't think of getting another one *nodding*!

Cheers

I have a dog you can have. She looks mean, but is afraid of everyone...Oh, and she eats EVERYTHING. :) Next time, keep quiet until you see the license plate.... then yell at them for being stupid. That way, they get caught. It would have been funny if they would have taken the scriptures. No better way to take the Hades express than to steal a bible. :)

Just gotta make a Bible look like a laptop or a purse and leave it somewhere conspicuous ..
