What's a Mother Worth?

I was watching one of those baby shows today. The new mother said she plans to take 16 weeks off work, then go back to work and put the baby in day care. The father said, "I have mixed emotions, I don't want him to be separated from his mother's care, but I know it will be good for him to be with other children." Hmmm....sorry..I didn't know that a mother's care, and other children's companionship was interchangeable.

Day care scares me. I am so thankful we haven't had to do that.

As a Mr.Mom and now a professional baby trainer (i havent been bit yet!)
I have to say i agree there are too many down sides to Day care, but i know some people single parents, and not as well off people Day Care is the only way to go.

My youngest just started pre-school. He's five, but missed the cutoff for Kidergarten by a week and a half. I think it will be good for him, but he's already had five years of staying at home. The drawback? He's already caught a nasty cough. Pre-schools and daycare centers are a safe haven for germs it seems.
