Paranoia

Well, after I posted the Easter cartoons, I began to think. When I was surfing the internet looking at cartoons (and by the way, be careful about that, I got more of an eyeful than I expected. Who would have thought they could come up with a bad cartoon about Easter bunnies...egs... etc.) I saw one site that said legal actions had been brought against them for some cartoon they had posted. I think it was copyrighted or something. Well, I don't know, but I wonder if I could get in trouble for posting them on my site. I decided that only someone surfing blogs (which I think is extremely rare) would see them, and if I just post something new and force them down the page a little, I would be safe. Am I paranoid? You betcha!
Oh, and another site I saw was just a bit too sac-religious for me. (how do you spell that?) It wasn't about bunnies and eggs and such, but was poking humor at the Bible. For example, one had the apostles running to the tomb. The caption underneath said, "This marked the beginning of the first ever "Tomb race" That one was mild, but some of the other ones were a little too irreverent for me. Okay, I think that pushed the cartoons far enough down the page. :P

I think you're ok, especially since the cartoons you posted are clearly referenced. I think if anything, Mark Parisi should be concerned about ripping off other cartoon characters ;-)
