Smoke gets in your eyes

Okay, here is a question to ponder. When I am driving down the road, I see people smoking in their cars, holding the cigarette out the window. Why is that? Is it because they want to keep the smoke smell out of the car? Sorry,....not going to work. Is it to keep the smoke out of their lungs? Sorry...that was a stupid question. Is it to keep the smoke away from the other people in the car? Hmm....if they were worried about that, they wouldn't be smoking in the car. Is it to look cool? Uh...wrong again...not cool. Is it to annoy me with the smell that comes through my vent? DING DING DING DING!!!! RIGHT answer!

It's to keep the ashes from burning holes in their clothing. If you will notice, all smokers have little holes burned into their clothes, usually the sleeves. Of course, it may also be to keep themselves from wrinkling worse. Cigarettes wrinkle people big time.

Sorry. None of the above. I was a smoker and I never had holes burned into my clothing. It is to keep the ashes from flicking all around the car. Have you ever had an ash in your eye while you drive? It hurts.
And to look cool.

I have heard they are going to pass a law prohibiting people from smoking in cars that have small children in them. Though it seems intrusive on a person's rights, it also makes sense as the secondhand smoke is so dangerous and the child has no way to avoid it if someone is smoking in the car. I have mixed feelings about it, personally. Professionally, I love it, gives me more reasons to pull a car over. :)

I think they do it when they are trying to quit smoking...less smoke to the lungs...the cigarette burns out faster...etc. :) Actually, I would trust Alpha on this one...

Not that smokers look cool...
I think it sounds like a good law. I'm glad I quit...it was something that I hated but was so addicted that I couldn't stop...
