Wow Padmum really came up with a challenging topic today! lol
When I think about being "crochety", I automatically think of being old. To me, you can't be just crochety, you have to be "old and crochety". :) It automatically sounds like a bad thing, but I can think of "crochety" old people who carried it off with style. Let me give you some examples:
--Did you see "Gran Torino" starring Clint Eastwood? He was definitely "cool crochety".
--I was watching some late show the other night and the guest was Don Rickles. He is quite old now, and is very crochety, but very funny. His "crochety" has earned him a lot of money! :)
--The ultimate in wonderfully crochety old people is "Maxine". She doesn't allow people to run over her, and knows who she is. If that is crochety, sign me up!
Now go see what the other Consortium members have to say about this!

I loved Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino!
I am a fan of Maxine and wonder if I am ready yet...
'When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me'.
Yes,Maxine is a great example. So was Walter Mathau in The Odd Couple!
Maxine is the best - I'm a big Maxine fan. Other than Maxine, I am not a fan of crotchety.
Gran Torino - good watch - and cool crotchety, you're right.
The topic reminds me of an old rhyme:
Cross patch
Turn the latch
Let the ...something... in.
Anyone know it?
I ain't no old lady....i may have the years on paper but I am ready to dance any number of jigs.
