The sad part of this story is that this friend's wife was widowed once before. She married very young, about 15 years old. Her husband was working under a car when it fell on him and killed him. She had a child, and continued to provide for her the best she could. Then she met her second husband, and spent about 25 happy years with him. Now she has to mourn a second husband.
This is just a reminder to me that we need to be careful. Our lives are a gift, and we need to do the best we can to protect this gift. We should do this not only for ourselves, but for our spouses and children. And we also need to express our love to our family members regularly because we never know when they might be taken.

That is indeed a tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go to the wife and children.
How awful. It is a tidy reminder for all of us to tell those we love that we love them. Tonight I spent over an hour on a bereavement call. A lady who woke during the night to find her husband gasping his last breath in the bed beside her.
Your title sums it up. What a horrific experience to have to endure. And it's a good thing there are no distance limits on thoughts and prayers.
So sad...how do you lose TWO husbands? My heart goes out to her.
I am saddened to hear this story. Such a waste of life. Being careful however does not seem to come easily to people like the man with the sports car. The driver of the truck was careful, but could have been killed anyway, by the carelessness of the other. When the time is up, nothing can stop death from doing its job.
