My little posy of Cecil Brunner roses finally withered, and I knew that there won't be many left for long on the plant, so I decided to go pick another small bouquet. This gives you a view of what the tiny buds look like.
I also cut this rose that was hanging below the plant, and was almost obscured. She had told me I could cut some flowers, but I decided to just cut this one that wouldn't be missed. :) I also helped myself to two sprigs of lavender to compliment it.
Both of these arrangements remind me of this poem that I have posted before:
My Neighbor's Roses
by Abraham L. Gruber
The roses red upon my neighbor's vine
Are owned by him, but they are also mine.
His was the cost, and his the labor too,
But mine as well as his the joy, their loveliness to view.
They bloom for me and are for me as fair
As for the man who gives them all his care.
Thus I am rich, because a good man grew
A rose-clad vine for all his neighbor's view.
I know from this that other's plant for me,
And what they own, my joy may also be.
So why be selfish, when so much that's fine
Is grown for you, upon your neighbor's vine.

Beautiful flowers! The poem reminded me of a folk story we have about mangoes falling from a neighbour's tree into the protagonists compound..who does it belong to?
The arrangements are beautiful, I can almost smell the scent. I like the poem too.
I'm glad you put the posy roses by the other vase, because I didn't realize how small they were. Beautiful!
Beautiful flower arrangements along with the nice lines.
Very pretty!
My daughter used to compare this poem to enjoying her nieces before she got her little girl. :0)
