On my recipe blog I posted a recipe my mother used to make
called Meat rolls. I asked Rickb to see if he could improve upon the recipe. He came up with
this recipe that looks MUCH better than mine! I'm going to try it! Check it out if you want a good idea for dinner!

This wasn't Mom's recipe to begin with, it was from our cuz, MB.
I think you are probably right, but I do remember eating it as a youth. The recipe I used came from Aunt M.
aha ,, ok it'll be my lunch as soon as I buy meat
thanx 4 sharing!
Ok, I'll be blunt. I always thought it tasted like school lunch food (or not even that good). Personally, I've come to the opinion that the canned stuff makes it that way. Use fresh veggies, etc. for a better flavor. I also like rickb's use of sausage (yum) and a true gravy like he made is always preferable to the cream-o-chicken stuff you sometimes get. And did I see he put cheese on the outside? Again--yumm! I have been "tampering" with simple recipes lately to see how much better I can make them, so I loved some of his improvements. BTW--you should try my crab and mushroom mac and Italian cheese....
Rick's version looks good.
Nene is right, it came from MB and she got it from the hospital, I think. I use this recipe, but make my biscuit dough from scratch, and instead of white sauce I like to serve it with brown gravy. I do use the canned vegetable soup, and I use very lean, uncooked hamburger.
I was going to leave a comment on Rick's blog, but it wouldn't let me and I didn't want to sign up as a commenter.
I make my biscuits from scratch too. I want to try Rick's recipe for cheese biscuits though.
I have always cooked my meat for these FIRST. I have experimented quite often, and have come up with several variations that my kids like and will eat.
