New Year's Resolutions

I wrote on facebook that I was trying to decide what new year resolutions to make. My cousin made a comment that she doesn't make resolutions. But actually, they help me. Years ago I decided to just make one resolution, to floss every day. I had been really bad at doing that daily, so I decided to just set that one goal. After a few years, that was an ingrained habit, so I stopped making it my resolution. I know this sounds dumb, but after that I got out of the habit again. So here I am at the start of another year, and I really do think that making resolutions will help, so here are a few I have thought of.
1. Lose weight. I really think that if I cut down the amount of food I eat, I can lose weight. I already walk every day, and that doesn't help my weight. But some years ago my son had appendicitis and I was worried about him and lost weight because I didn't have much of an appetite. So I know that cutting back on food will help. I'm not sure how else I will do this, but I'm thinking about some kind of chart or something. It's still trying to gel in my brain. :)
2. Study Chinese characters. Once again, I'm not exactly sure how to implement this goal, but I think if I go for 15 minutes a day or something it will be better than nothing. I keep saying how horrible I am at reading Chinese, but really that's just an excuse for not studying more.

That's all I have for now, but I might add to that.

My 2 New Year's resolutions are to:
1. Get rid of the junk in my house and better organize everything
2. To write and illustrate the children's book I have had in my head for some months now.

My word verification is lesser - I have lesser resolutions? Or need to have lesser junk?

I didn't used to floss every day, until I went to the dentist one time, and I had cavities. He told me I wouldn't have had them if I'd've been flossing. I've flossed daily every since, and now I'm "addicted" to it. My teeth don't feel clean without doing it!

I'm addicted to flossing daily now too L, same reasons, so I guess that is where you get it.

I never flossed until my dentist told me that part of my jaw had deteriorated, and that if I didn't start I would get gum disease and possibly lose my teeth. Talk about a wake up call. Now I floss every day, and I'm surprised at how little time and effort it takes. I should've been doing it all along.

I have a couple of tips for you on how to eat less that I've read. One is to only eat half of what is on your plate, the other is to make sure that your serving of meat is no bigger than the size of your palm (not including the fingers). Good luck, losing weight is definitely one of my goals this year and I may add your goal into mine too!

Using a smaller plate for meals and not getting seconds can be helpful in controlling the amount of food. I am making a goal of drinking more water which could also help control food intake.
