Friday Loose Bloggers Consortium: My Idea of Fun

Sometimes I wonder if I am in my "second childhood". There are so many things that I find fun, and some of them may not be typical for an adult! :) But my attitude is that I only live once, and I should make the most of my time and enjoy myself. There are a lot of things that I really love to do, that are fun for me:

--Shakespeare festivals- I'm not so much in to the "lusty" experience of the faire, but I really love the plays!

--Opera- I am not rich, but occasionally through the years my father in law has given us tickets to the opera as a present. I wish I could afford to buy season tickets every year!

--Facebook games. Okay, I confess, I am a facebook gamer. But don't judge too harshly. If you don't play facebook games, you could easily assume that I am spending hours playing them. That's because each tiny thing done on the game brings a notification that is posted on my wall. So it looks worse than it is. :) And if those notification bother you, you can hide the game all together. :P

--Crafts- I love crafts of all kinds! I do alot of rubber stamping, and lately I have been learning to crochet.

--Photography- I just love photography. I don't always take the time to do it, but I really enjoy it.

--Playing duets on the piano. I love the piano anyway, but playing duets is so fun for me!

--Gardening- I love all kinds of gardening, but especially vegetable gardening! My dream is to live in a place where I can have a gentleman's (gentlewoman's?) farm! I would even love to have some chickens in a coop, and a big compost heap so that I could grow really good veggies. I just planted some flower bulbs that should bloom this summer. I will try to take pictures for you when they bloom.

I know there is much more that I could add to this list, but this is a start. If you would like to see what the other consortium members do for fun, please follow these links:

If you're going to be there this summer, do you want to do a duet with me on the piano? We could do it for the talent show. :0D If so, let me know and I'll look for one that is not horribly hard.

PS. My 2nd childhood fettish is my Weird Stuffed Animal Collection. That and also reading kids and teens books. I found 2 more kids books I want to read: SOUNDER and NUMBER THE STARS. :0)

Yes, Nene, let's play a duet! We could do something patriotic, or pioneer, or just something fun. :)

During my pre retirement days, I used to tell people that I have never worked in my life. I continue to maintain that because, in my definition, when you enjoy doing what you are doing, it is not work. Work is what you HAVE to do. I have little of that any more in my life.

Great Delirious--all of us seem to share many common notions of fun. I too play games on my Computer Freecell and Spider Solitaire--love Scrabble and brick games. I enjoy Bookworm but lost the downloaded version when I changed Laptops. Am planning on getting it again. It can be addictive though.

Photography is something I enjoy too - though I seem to do less now that I can do it digitally. (Though that may be because my phone is so handy.)
I've posted some earlier efforts over at my place on the fun theme.
