The Green, Green Grass of Home

I found this picture in my facebook album. It's a picture my kids took with the camera timer one day when they were out playing together a couple of years ago. I wanted to post this to show you how green it gets here in the spring. When my sister Nene lived in Ireland, I kept thinking I would make a trip to see her so that I could get a chance to see Ireland. But my busy life, and lack of money kept me from going. I always imagined Ireland to be this green. But seeing this picture makes me appreciate how beautiful California is, and that I can enjoy green here too! Maybe someday I'll make it over to Ireland, but for now I'll enjoy this beautiful spring!

Yes. Ireland is very green, but we pay for it with lots of rain. We are having dry warm weather at the moment and it is warmer than Spain and Cyprus today. Mind you, we often have four seasons in an afternoon so when coming to Ireland dress like an onion - plenty of layers to peel off or on as needed.

lol I love the analogy of the onion!

We get rain in the winter, but not much the rest of the year. So in the winter our hills are green, but the rest of the year they are brown. At first I didn't like the brown, but I've come to see the beauty in it too. And sometimes the brown hills remind me of a sleeping lioness. :)

Your city has always been one of my favorites because of all the green everywhere!

India does not go green in the spring. It does so with a vengeance as soon as the monsoon starts. Till about mid November it is green naturally but you can see a lot of green on the agricultural areas of our rural parts throughout the year.

I would say Ireland is even greener that this picture, because this is just a picture of green grass, and Ireland has green trees, and bushes, and vines, and all kinds of green plants growing everwhere. This is a cute picture of your kids!

I'd like to go back to Ireland on a mission...maybe you could come visit then. :0)
