Don't Scrub a Dub Dub!

I got a good piece of counsel from my dermatologist yesterday. He emphatically told me, "Don't scrub! And always moisturize!" I said, "Really? I guess I have to get rid of my scrubby." He said, "Yes, don't scrub because you scrub off valuable oils in your skin." I never even thought of that before, so I am reassigning my scrubby to bathroom cleaning duties, and I am using a soft sponge on my skin.

I don't know why it took so long for me to learn this, but just a year or two ago someone told me to always moisturize. I never did because I have an oily face and figured that would exacerbate the problem. However, my friend said when we wash our face we dry it out and if we don't add moisturizer it will create oils to combat that dryness. It made sense, so I took her advice. Guess what? It makes a difference!

Now i'm off to pay my respects to your forlorn and demoted scrubby :)

this is gonna sound OCD but I don't like using scrubbies, especially if they're communal scrubbies - you just never know what's left in there - i just use the bar of soap and usually always dove

Good advise. We tend to over clean ourselves and I received the same advise from a doctor many years ago. I stopped using a shower gel and loofah and switched over to bar soap with glycerin.
