Sands of the Sea

My daughter got out her suitcase today and as she did found some sand in the bottom. She said, "Hey, there's sand in here that I think came from Egypt." Then she came in my room and sprinkled some of it on me. A few minutes later I started absentmindedly brushing it away, but as I did I thought, "Wow, this is actually from Egypt!". Part of me wanted to pick up every grain and save it somewhere. But the realist/ non-hoarder inside wouldn't allow me to save it. But for one small moment, it was cool to think that part of Egypt was that close to me! :)

Pretty cool to have that happen---I can't believe you didn't put it in a cute little bottle. ;-)

That's pretty neat. Don't worry though. There's lots more sand in Egypt. I'm sure you could find a blogger there that would be more than happy to send you some if you feel the need to have it sometime. LOL

In a magazine one time I saw someone had a collection of sand in cute little bottles with the names and dates of where they came from. Maybe she should've poured it into one of those ;>

That would have been as close to Egypt as I will probably ever get. :0) In fact, that sand by you is probably as close to Egypt as I will ever get.
