Prognosis

So my computer probably has a virus or something. My husband downloaded all of the photos and important stuff to an external hard drive. Now we just need to figure out what we are going to do next. I'm really stupid about computer stuff, so I'm pretty much leaving this on his shoulders. We have a "guy" that we take our computers to, so I might end up just doing that. He had called some time back and offered a good deal on an upgrade of software, so this might be the time to take advantage of that. So far I have handled not having my computer pretty well. I've been able to borrow my daughter's to check my mail, facebook, blogs, and write lessons. But I start teaching seminary in about 2 weeks, so I really need my own computer. I realize more and more how much I depend on it to really write. Having the internet at my disposal to check facts, scriptures etc, really does help me write. If I had to write everything by hand, I probably would be so discouraged I wouldn't be able to ever get a lesson done. See how spoiled I've become?

My husband asked a friend to take a look at it, but he doesn't really have the time to mess with it, so my husband is bringing it home tomorrow. I think I'm heading straight to our "guy"'s computer repair shop.

I would either get it fixed or buy a new one---I had a tough time going the three days without ours while I sorted out the viruses.

sounds like a good idea - might as well upgrade because it sounds like he might have to wipe it down anyway. Just a tip, the IT people at work told me to switch to Mozilla Foxfire as my internet browser instead of Internet Explorer because it has better virus protection, and I have REALLY noticed a huge difference.

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for quite some time because I started having problems with Internet Explorer. I also always read my email online instead of downloading it to my computer. Not sure what's going on!
