Drug Deals

The other night I went to go pick up my son from his friend's house and had an interesting experience. As I was driving in his neighborhood, I came upon a car that was parked in the street, partially blocking the lane. The driver was in the car, but I could see they weren't planning on moving any time soon, so I drove around them. I drove about 10 feet and came to another car also parked in the street. Once again, the driver was in the car, but they seemed to be waiting for something, so I decided to drive around them also. They were parked right in front of a stop sign. As I pulled up next to them and stopped at the stop sign, the driver of that car reached his hand out the window toward my car. He had something in his hand. And then I knew, that he thought that my car was the car behind him, pulling up to do a deal with him. I didn't see clearly, but I think what was in his hand was the money, and he was waiting for my window to roll down and give him the drugs. Dang...I didn't have another passenger or I could have had them roll down the window and grab the money. ;) Just kidding, I didn't want to be shot. I guess I could have traded him a stick of gum....
(And in case you are wondering, I sped out of there as fast as I could, and when I got to my son's friend's house I pulled up in to the driveway and turned off my lights. They knew I had seen them handing money out the window. I think they made tracks fast though because after I picked up my son, they were gone.)

Yes, very nice things go on behind closed doors in nice neighbourhoods here too. I was in a stag party just a few days ago, when since I do not take alcoholic drinks, one gent offered me a snort!

Just for the record, I do have some chinese readers who leave nice comments, that aren't spam. The one above is a nice comment. :)

Someday I'll have to tell you about our final hurrah as apartment managers. Maybe I should post it on my blog, complete with pictures. Drugs are scary, scary things.
