Secret Sisters

Our Relief Society did a "Secret Sisters" activity this past 3 weeks. First we filled out a questionaire with some information about ourselves, that included things such as food allergies, favorite color, etc. Then our task was to give something to them once a week for 3 weeks. They specifically asked us not to buy anything, but to make something at home. I only know a couple of people from church who read my blog, and neither was my secret sister, so I will tell what I did. :) I actually agreed to take two sisters because they had some of the older sisters who can't get out easily, so didn't sign up for the activity. But they wanted to include them anyway.

The first week I just made a card with this quote that I got from a friend's facebook:

"Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves." –Dieter F. Uchtdorf

I stamped and embossed a sun on the corner of it and put a magnet on the back so they could hang it on their fridge. It wasn't too fancy, but that's the only thing I could think of doing that week. lol
The second week I made some small felt heart pillows to hang on their doorknob (or wherever). I embroidered flowers on them, and sewed on a couple of sequins for "bling" lol. They were supposed to be a valentine's day decoration. lol

This last week I made big heart shaped, frosted sugar cookies with pink colored sugar on top and left at their doorstep. Now I'm wondering if they got them before a passing animal did!

Here is where I'm bad. Most of you know that I have a hobby of analyzing handwriting. I know many people think it's some kind of fortune telling, but it isn't. You can just see certain personality traits in handwriting. So my secret sister hand wrote a note for me. And now I'm sure I know who it is. lol I may even have seen her handwriting before, but I'm sure that's whose handwriting this is. I'll pretend to be surprised when she reveals herself to me. lol We are having an ice cream social tonight to reveal our secret sisters. It should be fun!

I haven't done any handwriting in years, but you have me wondering what kind of personality I have! Can you tell from type writing?

Actually, if I were to make a guess Looney, I would say that you are probably like most men, and if you have to write by hand, you probably print. Printing is much more difficult to analyze. But I do think I can tell a lot about your personality by WHAT you write. :) I'm sure you could tell a lot about me too. (she's stubborn, she's hot tempered...etc... lol)

It was fun evening wasn't it? Some of us decided it would be a good idea to give another secret gift just so we can play "doorbell ditch" again, lol!

This sounds like a really great activity. I really like how they emphasized to not buy something, but to make it. I'll keep this in mind....

I never got even a hint of "hot tempered".
