Scooby Scooby Do!

Tonight we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things, but when we returned to our car, we couldn't start it. We had been noticing some problems, but hadn't taken the car in to get fixed yet. The steering wheel was locked up and we couldn't turn the key. We sat for a few minutes trying to decide what to do about the problem. We were both so tired, it was hard to even think, but we thought about our different options. At one point I decided to see if maybe I had the magic touch, and got out of the passenger side of the car to go try starting the car. As I was thinking about how to solve the problem, I walked around the back of the car and saw a bumper sticker that said, "What would Scooby do?"

I couldn't start the car. We tried some lock lubricant, but that didn't work either. We finally decided to call a tow truck. The guy charged us to come and bang on the steering column with his wrench. The car started right up. I think he jiggled the tumblers in to place when he hit it.

Meanwhile, while I had been waiting, I had found a Christmas stocking with candy. I ate a whole mess of chocolate. I guess I did do what Scooby would do, I found a scooby snack.

I come here via Looney's blog and I am intrigued. I would like to come often and comment. I have caught up with some of your older posts as well and my comment is the same about all of them. They are intriguing.

We have a three burner stove at home which has given us a great deal of service. Recently, the automatic lighting system was becoming slow and gas was leaking waiting for the ignition to take place. I finally called the gas supply company to send a technician who came, suggested that I change the battery and bingo it worked. Naturally, I had to pay for it! I did not even know that the stove had a battery! I wish that I had a bag of chocolates though!

I am unable to comment using my blog name which is rummuser and my blog is www.rummuser.com. I shall leave this comment as being from my real life name and address.

Are you sure your steering column just didn't lock up? Sometimes that has happened to me, and I take the steering wheel and violently try to turn it left to right. It will turn like and inch but no more. Anyway, if you do that, it sort of shakes it loose and then you can start it. I've done this several times.

Funny! I'm glad you got your car started, although I think I'd still get it checked out. :) Somehow, I don't think "Jiggling" things is the proper way to fix things, even if it is a lot of men's way. lol

OK---L*---jiggling works---the proof is in the pudding or in this case the car starting---it just doesn't fix it so you don't have to jiggle it again.
