Prop 8 Demonstration Deja Vu

This morning we took our kids to go wave signs for the "Yes on 8" campaign. Two of them were less than enthusiastic, but went anyway. They had a blast! My 10 year old was even yelling, "Si on Ocho!" The youth from church were all there and were very energized.

As I saw my boys standing side by side waving their signs, I had a memory of something my husband told me. When he was a young boy, growing up in the Bay area, his parents were very involved in the hippie movement. They took their children to the arms depot and had them sit on the railroad tracks to protest the shipment of arms, and the war. I would imagine they were wearing their peace signs and love beads. My husband has a very vivid memory of this event. I wonder what my children will remember about today. I hope they will remember that their parents believed in preserving marriage for their posterity.

Sounds like fun. For some reason, people were here waiving the same signs. I wonder why... did they not realize it is not a Utah issue at this time? LOL
