I'm Tempted to Become a Grafitti Artist

I went in to a bathroom at Safeway today, and saw that there was grafitti on the wall. I won't tell you what it said, I don't even use those words in my life...they don't pass my tongue. But suffice it to say it was bad. I was looking around the bathroom and was impressed by how much the store had worked to try to make it nice. I've been going to this store since they opened, and I have been in that bathroom many times over the 12 years, and have seen how it has changed. It went from being a stark room, to having beautiful tile on the walls. They also recently painted the drab gray door and diaper changing station to match the walls. It was nice to see the change, but saddening to see the grafitti. As I looked at those horrible words that marred the beauty of the bathroom, I had this insane urge to get a sharpie marker and scribble over the words. I often carry a permanent marker with me because I use it when I mail packages. Quickly I searched my purse to see if I could find one. Unfortunately I recently cleaned out my purse, and I'm assuming any marker I had was taken out. I know this might be illegal, but I'm actually considering putting a marker in my purse, and if I see dirty words on the bathroom wall, I will write over them just enough so that they are illegible. The way I look at it, they need to repaint anyway, so this will just keep us from having to stare at filthy language. Yup...I think I'm going to put a marker in my purse.

There's a movie where they do that. (Can't remember which one) But, he goes into the bathrooms every night and just changes the word to something else. :)

I can see you doing that, as a police woman comes in and....
NEWS TONIGHT..
Mormon woman caught writing nasty words in local bathroom more at 11.

But honestly i didnt know woman did that in their bathrooms (unless its a unisex single bathroom then it porbably be the guys)But i say go for it. a black scribble in same cases would be better. but leave the poems. some are funny ;)

I'm often amused by the things people write on bathroom walls. Of course, around here they carve it in rather than writing it in marker.

Not enough fiber in their diets, Minnow? Because carving would take quite awhile, I think.

I think that's a great idea - but I wouldn't change them to something else - that's still grafiti. Just cross them out.
