The Wake Up Song

I'm not sure when it had it's birth, but sometime in my children's life, I came up with "the wake up song". Let me just say right off that my children HATE the wake up song. I don't think the song itself is that bad, but being woken up by it appears to be torture to them.

Okay...when you sing the wake up song, you have to be VERY enthusiastic. I think the more body movements you use, and the more drama in your voice, the better. Oh, and be sure to sing it LOUDLY, afterall, the point is to WAKE PEOPLE UP! This song has a tune, but since I can't write that here, feel free to make up your own.

Okay, here are the words:

"Oh, this is the wake up song!
We hope you will sing along!
So get out of bed
You sleepy head
And stay out ALL DAY LONG!!"

Don't you just feel more awake already? ;)

When I lived at home my blanket always came untucked at the bottom of the bed every night, and my foot would stick out. I think I had a short bed. When I was taking early morning seminary Mom would wake me up at 5:30 a.m. by pulling on my big toe. So I am kinda sympathizing with your kids here. :0)

That may be because Grandpa H. used to pull toes to wake people up. I remember him also tying a string around someone's toe and pulling to get them up. I seem to remember a glass of water or two also. :)
