I Lied

Okay, I lied, I want to keep whining. I am feeling really old lately. I look in the mirror and I see this middle aged old lady. I see the double chin, the gray hair, the middle age sag. Is that me? That certainly isn't what I look like on thte inside. (ahem...I mean aside from all the squishy gudgeon stuff). Seriously, this is a little joke that mother nature plays on you. I turned 30 and started to really have a mature look at the world. I turned 40 and really came in to myself and knew who I was. Then nature sprung it's last joke on me and made me look older than I feel. I have to admit, this makes me look at REALLY old people differently. I see more now that they are just like me...young people caught in old bodies. Okay, I will stop whining now, but I think that instead of whining I will have my mid-life crisis now. :P

I think I am having the same crisis. This past six months has aged me much more than six months. Where is the justice in that?

You are only as old as you feel.
But that's why they invented makeup...
to hide aging...to "makeup" what you don't have naturally.

My face in the mirror isn't wrinkled or drawn.
The dust on the furniture and cobwebs are gone.
My house looks so beautiful and also my lawn.
I don't think I'll ever put my glasses back on.

One of my favorite poems.
