Musically born too late

My mother always said that my brother (Pick Up Sticks from wordcarvin.blogspot.com) was born a century too late. He would be totally comfortable carving out a new frontier in the wilderness. I tend to think I was born too late "musically". The music I like really belongs to the generations before me. I am getting older, and I think because of that people think maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I liked this kind of music when I was young too.

There are some of the newer artists that I like, but I'm very selective. I really like Gavin DeGraw, Cheryl Crow, Harry Connick Jr. (but there you go again...he sings the old songs.) I have never been a rock music fan. I can listen, but it just doesn't grab me.

I don't consider myself one of the Beatles generation...I'm a little young for that, but I love them. But what I really love is some of the other earlier music of my parent's generation. For Christmas my husband gave me a CD of the best of Frank Sinatra. It's a great CD! I am so familiar with the music of that generation. I'm just glad I was born after them so that I wouldn't miss their music all together.

I have a thing for Glenn Miller's Big Band music, and he died before I was even born. Maybe Mom played it when I was a baby or something?
