In to the CIty

My daughter is going back to college tomorrow, so my husband and I took her out for a day in the city today. We went to eat lunch at a Korean restaurant. We eat with chopsticks all the time at home, but for some reason she had a hard time with the little disposable ones they give you. She said it is easier to not break them apart in order to make them work right. The restaurant is right by Japan town in San Francisco, so we also shopped at some Japanese stores nearby. We bought my daughter a small gift....a pair of learner chopsticks. :0)

After lunch we wound our way through the city and went to the Legion of Honor museum. They had some incredible paintings and art work there. Having studied art history, it is just mind boggling to me to stand in front of art that was actually painted by some of the most famous artists in history. This museum doesn't have a very large collection, but we were able to see paintings by Manet, Monet, Renoir, Degas, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso, and others, as well as sculptures by Rodin. As soon as I can get it down loaded, I will put on here a picture of me sitting by "The Thinker".

We went down to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. My daughter hates seafood, but she was able to find something on the menu she could eat. Even if she didn't care that much for the food there, it was still fun to be out together and spend some time with her before she has to go back.
